Dr. Kussin is a highly sought-after consultant and public speaker.  She works in school settings (public, private, charter, NPS/non-public,) with boards, faculty, administration, students and parents.  She can help with accreditation preparation and site visits, as well as work to develop and enhance mission statements and create outcomes.  She also provides direct clinical service, including reduction of school bullying and enhancement of positive community and pro-social skills; emergency response and preparedness from an emotional perspective; crisis preparation including suicide prevention, intervention and postvention; and creative and structured discipline for “all kinds of minds” in the classroom.

Dr. Kussin speaks to both large and small groups, and at both national and community events.  She can give the “Back to School Night” talk for parents (Raising Scholar Athletes, Don’t Rush Your Kindergartner, Social Media Tips for Parents, Why Play is STILL Important) or In-service talks at schools for faculty and administrators (“How to Help Teachers and Administrators Know the Signs of Suicidality in Teens,” for example). She has given keynote addresses on topics such as Seeds of Peace – Reducing Anger Among Us and Sane Parenting in Insane Times, as well as in-service trainings and talks on topics such as creating safe communities, crisis response and post-crisis response, mentoring for the whole community, and self-care.

Dr. Kussin supervised hundreds of individuals across the spectrum in mental health training and education. She taught, trained, mentored, supervised and guided marriage and family therapy trainees and interns, social work associates, psychology practicum students, and psychology pre-doctoral and post-doctoral interns. She provides clinical supervision for licensure as well. Many of Dr. Kussin’s previous mentees continue to enrich her life as well as the communities in which they serve. She is honored to count them among her colleagues and friends and is delighted to find herself learning from them, just as they learned from her.

Be it a school, an agency, a faith-based organization or a person seeking mentorship and guidance, Dr. Kussin finds her work a pleasure and a gift she can offer to others, while she in turn embraces all of her lifelong learning opportunities.
